HIPS Huajin Chemical 825

HIPS Huajin Chemical 825

Material Introduction: HIPS Huajin Chemical 825 is a high‑toughness, easy‑to‑process and low‑cost high‑impact polystyrene plastic. It delivers merits including good processing flowability, outstanding impact resistance, high surface gloss, excellent colorability and dimensional stability. It is suitable for general‑purpose injection‑molding applications requiring impact resistance.

Main Applications

Consumer goods: toy manufacturing, household articles, stationery supplies.

Electrical‑electronic housings: remote‑control housings, small‑home‑appliance buttons, printer components, power‑switch panels (UL94 HB flammability rating).

Packaging materials: cosmetic bottle caps, daily‑chemical bottle bodies (food‑contact compliance to be verified), disposable tableware trays (derived from economy‑grade food‑contact HIPS grade).

Industrial components: instrument protective covers, pipe connectors, logistics turnover boxes (stacking compression resistance ≥50 kg).

Injection Molding Parameters

Process Parameter Reference Range / Recommendation Remarks & Descriptions
Drying Treatment 70‑80 °C for 2‑3 hours (subject to storage conditions) HIPS features low water absorption; drying is generally unnecessary. Drying is recommended under high‑humidity environment or improper storage.
Barrel Temperature 190‑240 °C Relatively higher injection and molding temperatures are preferred due to rubber‑modified composition.
Mold Temperature 40‑60 °C Higher mold temperature helps reduce internal stress.
Injection Pressure 60‑150 MPa (general HIPS range) Sufficient holding pressure, holding time and cooling time are required.
Injection Speed Medium speed Avoid excessive speed causing molding defects.
Back Pressure 0.5‑1.0 MPa Appropriate back pressure facilitates melt homogenization.
Screw Speed 50‑100 rpm Avoid excessive screw speed to prevent shear overheating.
